Our History The company is in the business of computing infrastructure and document management, with industry concentrations in health care (Cooks Children’s, East Texas Medical, Scott and White Hospital, Scottish Rite), school districts in the State of Texas (over 70), municipal governments, and professional services (numerous law firms and accounting firms). The Harding Group’s business model has three parts:
- The company began by developing a Novell based competency of infrastructure products and services and grew to become the dominant Platinum reseller in the southwest for Novell, winning prestigious engineering awards every year of its existence. A few years later with clients making demonstrative moves into Microsoft computing platforms, the company developed competencies in that arena as well. In the past four years, the company built recurring revenue offerings in managed services, remote backup, and email protection. HGI is also a certified Microsoft Gold Partner. The company has become a “go-to” integrator for school districts like Keller ISD, Grand Prairie ISD, Celina ISD, and HEB ISD as they converted to Microsoft Exchange.
- The company built its second leg of capabilities in the data storage field, representing vendors like Xiotech, Spectralogic, Lefthand Networks, and Syncsort, specializing in mid-tier storage solutions and the larger infrastructure solutions that surround storage. HGI is one of the dominant resellers and integrators for Xiotech in the country, and is the only training facility for Xiotech in the country outside Xiotech’s corporate office in Minnesota.
- The third leg of the company was created in January of 2007 when HGI created a wholly owned subsidiary named Harding Document Management Services LLC (HDMS), within which to operate and grow a document management business targeted primarily at the school district market in the State of Texas. The entry into this business occurred via an acquisition of assets of a document company called Akuratus. The company added a new product/service line in 2009 utilizing the SpringCM product and expanded its capabilities to serve active records and commercial customers.
